Driving innovation for sustainable waste solutions: A collaborative approach

The innovation team works on improving and expanding our technical solutions to offer a fully circular solution for non-recyclable waste to our clients. The team is based in Belgium and UK and consists of engineers and PhD’s from various disciplines.
The team focuses on:
  • Improving our core technology: We continuously improve our combustion grate, combustion control, boiler design to offer state of the art technology to our clients and have an optimal combustion process
  • Improving power efficiency: recover more energy from non-recyclable waste
  • Capturing CO2 emissions: When incinerating waste CO2 is released, we want to capture all CO2 emissions and store or utilize them
  • Cleaning flue gasses: The produced flue gasses are cleaned from harmful components
  • Recovering materials: ashes and metals remain after the incineration process, we want to bring these products back to the society for reuse where possible
The innovation team firmly believes in collaboration consequently we don’t I-nnovate but WE-nnovate. To realise the above we collaborate with universities & research institutes, suppliers and other departments within Keppel Seghers. In addition, we organize internal sessions to disseminate knowledge within the company on novel technologies or market trends. This embeds innovation in the DNA of the company.
Our innovation engineers are working on the future, driven by our curiosity, our eagerness to always do better and growth mindset, we continuously learn new things and translate these into useful applications. By doing this we push the boundaries of what’s possible.
