Summary
As an Instrumentation Engineer, you are responsible for the instrumentation scope of our Waste-to-Energy projects—from the commercial phase through to implementation. You will work closely with colleagues from the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) team and other engineering disciplines to ensure the successful integration of instrumentation systems into our plants.
Your future colleagues across departments, including proposal management, project engineering, and site execution teams, will rely on your expertise to ensure accurate, reliable, and efficient instrumentation design and implementation.
About this position
As a direct report to the Manager E&I Engineering, this position plays a key role in ensuring the successful design, procurement, and commissioning of instrumentation systems in our Waste-to-Energy installations. Your work will directly impact plant performance, safety, and reliability.
A detailed overview of the job
This is what you will do
During the quotation phase:

Develop instrumentation concepts, material selections, and cost estimates based on specifications, P&IDs, and layout drawings.

Provide technical documentation and input to the business development and proposal management teams.
During the engineering phase:

Prepare the instrument and IO list for typical process measurements: pressure, flow, temperature, level, and occasionally vibration, position, and analyzers.

The current engineering database is Access Database. However experience with COMOS (Siemens) is an additional advantage.

Draft specifications for instruments, and design instrument loop diagrams.

Define installation requirements for instrumentation systems.

Develop specifications for electromechanical equipment related to instrumentation (e.g., hydraulic units, burners, boiler cleaning systems, screws, pumps, fans).

Collaborate with project engineers on supplier selection, purchasing, design reviews, and inspections.
During the realization phase:

Supervise instrumentation installation activities on site.

Monitor instrumentation and electrical integration of package units (e.g., burners, boiler cleaning systems).

Support testing and commissioning of instrumentation systems on international project sites (mainly in Asia and Europe).
During the first 90 days you will
Achieve the following: learn KSBE methodologies, understand the workflow of the team, utilize the team’s skillsets to their best use and practice, and become familiar with the set-up, structures, and content of the assigned project.
Skills and abilities
Must Haves

You work meticulously to ensure a correct design and implementation.

Several years of experience with instrumentation in engineering projects, either at an engineering firm or equipment supplier.

Familiarity with typical process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level) and related equipment.

Experience with bus systems such as Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus is an added value.

Teamwork is crucial—you are a reliable team player who collaborates smoothly with various colleagues.

Willingness to travel internationally for short periods to suppliers is a must.
Nice to haves

Experience with instrumentation in Waste-to-Energy or similar industrial sectors.

Knowledge of electromechanical systems and their integration with instrumentation.

Worked in an EPC project environment.

Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods to our sites (Asia or Europe)
Education and Experience
-
Obtained a master’s degree in chemical, bio-engineering, or related fields of study.

Possess a minimum of 5 years or more of relevant work experience in a similar role.
Languages:
For this role, we are looking for a fluent English & French speaker to strengthen our team. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
