Summary
As the Contract Manager, you will have a vital impact on our business by finetuning the foundational framework of our Contract Management strategy and processes. In this role, you will coordinate and dive deeply into one or more of our ongoing projects, enabling you to have a hands-on approach while providing guidance to ensure successful project outcomes.
Your future colleagues across departments, including the engineering department, proposal and bid management department, site based project management and many more, will depend on your expertise in Contract Management to attain the operational excellence they strive for.
About this position
As a direct report to the Head of Commercial, this position plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between our corporate services, worldwide site-based operations, and fostering effective contract management collaboration with our colleagues in Singapore.
During the first 3 months of starting this role, collaborating closely with all stakeholders will enable you to thoroughly immerse yourself in our organization and develop an action plan to further develop the foundations of our contract management vision and strategy.
Upon internal alignment of the contract management strategy with our business needs, you will lead the implementation across our entire organization and assume a coordinating role.

This is what you will do

Reviewing contractual conditions during the tendering stage to ensure all relevant contractual obligations can be met during the execution of the contract, and are complete and issues are resolved.

Analyzing contracts, prepare Project Contract Management Plans, and provide contractual briefings to stakeholders.

Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, maintain positive business relationships with clients and partners, and oversee the management of claims and counterclaims.
Skills and abilities
Must Haves

Proficiency in high-level negotiations to facilitate the establishment of Keppel Seghers Belgium as a reliable business partner.

Comprehensive understanding of several contract mechanisms, including knowledge of FIDIC and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracts.

Expertise in the technical, legal, and financial aspects of complex projects, including experience with joint venture structures, DBOO (Design-Build-Own-Operate), and similar arrangements.

Contractual Claims management experience.

Ability to delve into non-contractual aspects of projects such as engineering, cost control, planning, and construction, to offer pertinent contractual support.

Strong analytical and communication skills, enabling effective evaluation and communication of project-related information.
Nice to haves
-
Experience in establishing contract management structures at corporate level, including successfully implementing and overseeing the coordination of these structures.

Prior experience in contract management at both project and corporate levels.

Background in the energy sector, particularly in areas such as biomass, waste-to-energy, hydrogen, process industry, and related fields.
Education and Experience

Hold a master’s degree in engineering, law, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with equivalent experience in Project and Contract Management will also be considered.

Possess a minimum of 5 years or more of relevant experience.
Languages:

Must possess a good working knowledge of English and Dutch; proficiency in French is highly valued.
